Where we work in Culver City
Culver City's recognized neighborhoods include Downtown Culver City, Blair Hills, Fox Hills, Lucerne-Higuera, Studio Village and Sunkist Park, and all of them are inside our dispatch area. Tell the dispatcher your neighborhood, cross street or nearest landmark, and the crew plans a route off Interstate 405, Interstate 10 or State Route 90.
Our main ZIP codes are 90230 and 90232. The Culver Hotel, Southern California Hospital at Culver City, Culver City High School and Antioch University Los Angeles all sit inside the city, so a call from an address near any of them reaches the same line. Callers from nearby Mid-City and West Adams in Los Angeles can also call and ask whether a crew can reach them.
Storms, Ballona Creek and indoor water
Ballona Creek runs through Culver City and has been a concrete flood control channel since 1935, according to the city. In February 2024 the city issued a storm notice that warned of peak rain rates of half an inch to an inch an hour and listed sandbag locations at Fire Station One, the headquarters station at 9600 Culver Blvd and the City Yard.
Rain is only one cause of indoor water. Supply lines, water heaters, washing machines, air conditioner drains and roofs all fail on dry days too. The Culver City Fire Department advises residents not to enter flooded below-grade garages, so call 911 for any life safety risk first and then call our line.
